Refinished old Desk

This was a custom piece for my niece. She wanted it refinished for her Birthday. I got it pretty late in the week so I was up all hours of the night for a few nights. It was pretty trashed. I didn't even wipe it down and went straight for the sander...

Amazing what a little elbow grease will do.
 looks like new already :)
I lightly primed with Kilz primer they are the best and then a coat of white paint. I didn't take pictures but I used Valspar clear glaze and mixed in some Valspar paint that was blue. Blue is her favorite color so I used that to glaze the entire desk. Wiped off with a wet towel. I need to be better with step by step pictures. I get to excited to finish :))
 WahLAAA

She is in love with Cupcakes and so I made a cupcake stencil and put a couple on top of the desk.

I used all the original hardware (as I always do whenever possible.) I loved the old rubbed off look they had so I just put some glaze on top and sprayed them with a clear glaze top coat afterwards. They are my favorite part I think! <3

I lined the drawers with a blue Hawaiian themed paper and modge podged really well. The entire desk was covered with 3 coats of Wipe On Poly!

Watermelom pink dresser/armoire

I loved this dresser when I saw it. I thought of a baby dresser and watermelon pink stood out in my mind. I started with a good wash down and then primed with Kilz Primer... WAHOO for when it was warm enough to use my spray gun! Those were the days. Don't think I can handle much more rain!!
After the white primer I sprayed with the pink and then used my mouse sander to distress it! I love to distress it adds so much more depth to the piece.
After distressing I slapped on a chocolate glaze I mixed with Valspar clear glaze and a drop or two or three :)) of my favorite Dark Walnut stain by Minwax. Wiped off with a wet towel.... and wahlaaa
See how well the stain gets into all the nooks and crannies? I love it!!!

I love how this turned out. I have a small dresser I am debating making the same color so they can be a set. It will make a good changing table as well??? hmmm the possibilities!

Dresser SOLD

I love dressers and this one was so much fun to re finish. I love the finished project and have had it in my family room for about a week. I get so many compliments on it. This is such a popular spring color right now and it looks great. I started with a good wipe down and a couple repairs.... next was a coat of Kilz Primer and then some distressing. You can see how big a difference makes with a little sanding on the drawer detail pictures. After that I glazed with a dark brown glaze I mixed using my favorite dark walnut stain with some Valspar Clear Glaze. The paint was an oops from Lowes but I plan on finding out the color when I go in to match it. Anyway I love it!!!

This is a beautiful large dresser. Could be used for an entertainment center as well. It has 9 drawers (3 of which are hidden behind a cupboard.) Approximate dimensions 71 inches long and 19 inches wide it stands 31 inches tall. This dresser was refinished in a light sage green and then distressed and finished off with a deep brown glaze. It is solid wood and very sturdy. Asking $250.00 cash only please. Text or call with any questions 801-781-0254.
